The slave cyl is loose from trans but it is still connected to a short flexible cable that goes to a lever and a rubber boot that enters the transmission housing......does this come out or stay?

The lever tgat goes inside is the clutch fork. The slave isnt really connected to it, it just pushes it. Dont disconnect it from that stainless braided line (or else youll have to bleed the clutch). You should just be able tomove the whole slave out of the way after you get it out of from behind the fork. If you cant (because the plunger from the slave if pushing against the fork), then you can either crack the bleeder to let some pressure out. Or just take trans out, once you do, the slave will come with. If you crack the bleeder or the line, remember to bleed the clutch.
