What do you do when your Y-pipe gaskets won't seal correctly?

I think my y pipe flanges (the groves for the crush gaskets) is un-even/warped because I cannot get this y-pipe to seal correctly for more than 3 days. I've gone through 5 sets of gaskets....FIVE, thats TEN crush rings!! And i get the same results no matter how tight (or not) I bolt it down. I turn each bolt little by little and it always ends up leaking. Pissing me off. Everyday it performs a different day depending if my chasis is twisted or not by roads/bumps/ hills.

Note: Exhaust manifold was so rusted some of the studs came out/snapped...so i had to use bolts and tap new threads in one of them (bigger) so I could see all 3 sides of each flange. So in front i have, 2 working studs and 1 substitute bolt, in the rear i have zero studs, but three bolts. They dont even come lose, its the gasket inside, how it's crushed thats un-even.

And i dont think i can upgrade to headers because I'm not confident the header bolts will come off easily...without complications. Like I said, the rust is bad.

Try some of this under and on top of the crush gasket:

Or measure your collector size and place a copper 3-bolt gasket in place of that POS seal! There's something you're missing...causing your premature rejectulation of seals...

Is this an OEM y-pipe or aftermarket? I dont see how all these flanges could possibly keep going out.

Might be time to spend some money on some eBay headers and cure your problem!

are the flanges flat? if overtightened the flanges can bend into contact with each other & not allow the gasket to seat & seal. if that's the case bend them away from each other.
