Dual-Runner intake Q

Either I'm a complete moron, or the Maxima dual-runner intake is not a TRUE dual-runner intake... When it switches over to the secondary runners there is no air path from the TB - just a second intake plenum.

So, instead of like the SHO where the shorter runners actually have a shorter air path from the two identical plenums from the TB, this one just keeps the longer runners open for the air path and opens a set of butterfly valves that allow the pressure waves reflected back off the closing intake valve to bounce off the smaller isolated plenum and then back into the intake valve during it's next cycle? (And the shorter 'rebound' path from the second plenum allows the pressure wave to reach the intake quicker, helping at higer RPMs... (They call it Dynamic Supercharging)

If that is the case, then I'm thinking a skilled fabricator could take an existing US-spec upper intake and graft on a specially-made plenum. I'd love to see a pic of the TOP of the butterfly valves, to see how they open in such a way that they retain full airflow through the long runners while opening up to the faux-plenum.

Any thoughts?

not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but take a look at this. maybe you're talking about something else, but that's the clearest picture of the throttle body butterfly valve. sorry if this isn't what you meant.
