Spring break plans...

As countless college kids are heading to some place warm and bikini-clad, I've got some different plans for my spring break. I have a bunch of new parts to install. This is my to do list so far:

3 engine mounts
1 transmission mount
Raybestos professional grade control arms
Deeza inner and outer tie rods
Deeza sway bar end links (w/poly bushings from courtesy)
NSA alternator (100% new, supposedly)

In addition to the new parts I have some troubleshooting to do. I have a creaking noise coming from the front driver's side that occurs when I take off from a stop. Hopefully that will be fixed by the new parts, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I have some buzzing and rattles I want to try to get rid of too. My I30 auto-dimming rear view mirror rattles, and I have some weird rattle noises coming from the glove box area and the rear deck area too. My power antenna won't go up any more, and it's a new mast.

If I have time I want to get my windshield replaced too. It isn't cracked, but the PO didn't replace or clean his wipers, and there are scratches all over that drive me crazy on the highway at night.

I may hunt down a clean Pebble Beige rear driver's side door to replace my dented one. Fun stuff...

Anyway...for the people who get a spring break, do you have any car related plans?

Retros and maybe a meet or two if I can squeeze them in. That's about it.

I think I'm going to try a retro with some morimoto minis or maybe the new FX-R 3.0's that TRS just released. I doubt I'll have time for that too...might have to wait until summer.

The 3.0's look amazing but you've gotta trim them which is no fun. The Mini's are cake. I just did some of those recently in stock housings.

Spring break being the end of this month is as follows...

Personal life: Celebrate sister's bday, and sleep. End personal.

Car:
1. Replacing both inner tie rods from FCPImport just laying around in my garage, waiting to be installed since I have a thud/clunk from take off, kind of like the one you mentioned beegeezy, which I'm counting is 100% the culprit since I've replaced both LCAs/outer tie-rods and sway bar end links and bushings.

2. Hunting down a place that can make my an IACV adapter plate for cheaper than $60

3. Getting some various stock intake and manifold parts from the junkyard as spares since I'm getting rid of my 01VI in a couple of months for a 3.5 swap

4. Replacing my busted driver's side strut mount that's taken a crap...

5. Washing my car as perfectly as possible

6. Hopefully getting two new tires installed to replace my bald ones in the front

7. Going to a meet in SoCal with the crew up a canyon and hopefully reuniting with some Nor-cal people and SD people.

8. Helping other fellow maxes to do any repair/upgrade on their whips

I think... that's all

Yeah, I saw those on your site. If I feel lazy I may hit you up for the same setup. My 100% stock headlight BLOW!

That about sums up my personal time too. I'll go to the movies with my parents I guess. Yippee!

Good luck, it sounds like you have a full plate too.

Southern Cali is also warm/beach/bikini-clad friendly

Knowing that most of the guys going to the meet up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) are single, including myself, we'll run into some hotties checking first the cars out and then us and hopefully we'll both make a good impression....

Why do you always have to make me hate my headlight and fog lights!? anyways my spring break is this week and im finishing up on my dads 2002 5th gen that he is going to sell and updating my cooling system for the hot southern weather. IE installing Mishimoto rad hoses, possibly removing my thermo or going with the 66c Mishimoto thermo, doing a flush and finally putting in the proper 70/30 factory spec anti-freeze ratio, and adding some super coolant from royal purple or redline, whichever is cheapest

I don't even wanna imagine stock headlights lol That setup wasn't too pricey either considering I ordered all new parts (housings, projectors, shrouds, bulbs and ballasts). LMK if you're ever interested.

Well, I just ordered the Mini H1 4.1 kit with 3five ballasts, XB35 5000k bulbs, and mini graphite shrouds. I think I'm going to try this myself, but if it doesn't turn out right I'll definitely PM you.

Now...should I keep the housings chrome or paint them black?

Oh, I forgot. I'm also installing a Python alarm/remote start system. That is probably the easiest thing for me though. I guess I'm keeping this car until the wheels fall off.

Nice choice on the XB35's. They're definitely brighter than the Mori's.

What's your car look like again?

EDIT: Just looked at a pic in your album. Stay chrome.

Current car is Pebble Beige, but I agree...chrome.

Ah spring break...

I will probably get immense joy from just driving my car. I have not driven my car, or any other car, in 3 months! It is a feeling of great deprivation. In addition, I should probably do an oil change considering my last one was 8-10K miles ago. No synthetic this time after reading that it can lead to leaking valve gaskets on high mileage motors.
