Something loose in my transmission

Purchased my first maxima saturday it's the cleanest 4th gen i love everything about it! So I got the title and was driving the car and at a a red light I went wot and at the next light it will not go into gear. so for 5 minutes I struggled and some how with enough force I got it into 2nd geAr and made it home lol so I get out the car and I hear like a loose piece of metel flying around inside the transmission housing. well i got a exedy oem clutch kit because the guy who sold me the car said to replace clutch because it felt real notchy. Tell me what you guys think I hope it's just the clutch and nothing serious peace out. Jin Edit: nomore talking about street racing sorry guys

No racing talk unless it's at a track, you WILL get the ban-hammer thrown on you, just an FYI

You raced someone knowing your transmission was screwy? smh

Could be a lot of things. Not enough info to make a determination.

Your clutch or hydraulics MC/SC or line is bad. Any leaks? Check the rubber boot at the slave cylinder and the carpet where the clutch pedal rod enters the master cylinder. Could also be a leaking line.

For whatever reason, the clutch is not disengaging.

That would also explain the PO's diagnosis of "notchy".

This makes me think the problem is the clutch itself. Likely the disc hub lost a spring into the clutch surface. Replace the clutch first and go from there.

if it works ok with the engine off then it definitely sounds like a clutch issue.

Got it all fixed I'll take some picture of clutch the spring on the clutch came off and was hitting against the clutch plate and flywheel area. I'm glad nothing else was damaged and I can drive the car finally
