its a maintenance part; so if you go out to your car and want to get it off you will. I disconnected the top (easier) tube first then had someone hold onto the filter while i used pliers to wriggle the bottom off the little nipple

thats nothing, when i first bought my 4th gen and changed my fuel filter. it was dripping fuel that literaly looked like mud

word I just read it up and saw a video, doesn't look to difficult. Did you pull the fuse prior to wiggling off the hoses so there is less pressure?

You're gonna have to unless you want to make the job harder and have a **** load of gas pour out.

Well, my mech didn't pull the fuse, he just had a towel to soak up the
spray and it wasn't that much.
