p0505 Help
Hello fellow Maxima lovers!
I've enjoyed using this forum to get me through some initial issues with my 1999 Maxima. Thanks to you all for compiling such helpful information.
My problem today is a p0505 code ( I have done a search and read quite a bit already) that I've been getting that calls out an IAC issue. I cleaned the valve and didnt see any issues. I have power at the harness (middle wires as I recall). With the valve removed from the housing I can see the pintle moving in and out when I turn on the key. I still get the code almost immediatly. I checked the IAC motor resistance per the manual and they are all the same at 50 ohms. Heres the question......the manual says they should all be the same...and they are.....but it also says 30 ohms and I read 50. Is it more important that the readings are all similar or do they have to be 30 ohms?
I read about the ECU relationship but as far as I can see thats only for 5th gen...?
What other things should I be checking? I hate having a SES light on.
The car runs great, just the light is on.
Thanks for any help.

Interesting questions. All resistance readings being the same is generally a good thing. But too much resistance can be just as bad as not enough.
But first, you need to verify that your meter is reading correctly. Cheap way is to go buy a resistor (Radio Shack), in this case in the 20 to 30 ohm range and see what your meter reads.
If the meter is correct or close to it, then I think the IACV should be replaced. 66% is quite a bit out of spec. The ECU is monitoring the voltage to the IACV and too much resistance creates an incorrect voltage.
But let's see what some other people say.
