Rice with light!

I was wondering..what kind of super white bulbs out there (blue coated) produce the whitest light?? the brightest? i just bought a pair made by phillips and when u turn em on in the day i notice ZERO difference with my regular bulbs..I see those bulbs that are REALLY coated with a dark blue layer online...are they worth it??!
thanx

Well, the idea of the Phillips Blue Vision is to work better not look cooler. Personally, I want the lights that light the road best. I'm not into having bulbs that let everyone within a mile know that I really wish I could afford HIDs.

Go for PIAA Platinum Superwhites or Xtreme Superwhites, either one will give you much better vision at night and the HID look that you desire. I also would rather have better vision instead of the immitation HID look, but with my PIAA Platinum Superwhites, i get both the vision and the nice look (its not ricey, its very bright with a tinge of purple). Expect to pay between $60 and $70 for a pair of 9004s, the H3s are about $20 per bulb. Believe me though its worth the money. They have a warranty and last a loooong time.

In my experiences with these so called "better" bulbs, I have only found that they light up the road better, but they lack the spread of light. That is my opinion. http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=102 (3rd time I've posted it there )
