Exhaust guidance from you experts

Hey everyone i recently made this account when i became obsessed with the org, but i recently bought a few new components to my exhaust along with a CAI. I bought a JDM SRS cutback exhaust (ebay) along with a high flow cat converter, i was going to grab a warp speed y pipe also but I'm trying to watch what i spend. Has anyone had a setup like mine before and how does it sound? also this will be my first attempt at installing an exhaust and i was looking for some tips or pointers on how to approach the job to get it done right and efficiently. Some info: I have a 1997 nissan maxima GLE that has all stock exhaust right now. thanks.

Yeah I think I've seen that video before i bought everything, the exhaust i got sounds like the best bang for my buck. It sounds nice on that car doesn't it? With the high flow cat do you think it would make it sound even better or too ricey?

Yup, I still love it to this day.

The high flow cat may add some loudness and rasp but with the precats still in place, it may not be that bad.

Yeah thats what I'm aiming for, ill have to post a vid once i install it. How hard is it to install those components, i understand the bolts will be rusty but I'm going to use pb blaster on them and hopefully get them off. But in terms of what needs to be done is it pretty straightforward looking at it once i get under the car?

Install was easy but my car was on a lift since I was getting a new flex pipe welded in. They allowed me to install the catback.

Spray PB Blaster a week ahead of when you're going to install. From there, it's extremely straight forward.

my setup (with USIM): warpspeed SS y pipe, magnaflow 2.5" cat, 2.5" SRS cat back (1 resonator about 14" with N1 (fart can) muffler)

video was taken when i had a back knock sensor and 2 broken o2 sensors so ran rich, hence the pop backs. you can tell it was hurting acceleration as it barely chirped the tires in second.

An HFC will add a bit more volume but would still be on the clean side as far as sound. Going resonated test pipe, test pipe, or straight pipe, and thats where raspiness begins.

hopefully your exhaust is straight forward like that. the bolts for my cat were unrecognizable blobs that just flaked off when a socket was placed on them. had to grind off both sides, heat, and hammer out.

But piped correctly, a resonated test pipe setup can still be made to sound clean.
