Anyone buy those cheap-o eBay ABS sensors?

They are only $30 with free shipping. Dealer wants $160.

Other than the mounting tab looking a little different, as long as it works, shouldn't matter right?

Anyone have any experience with these?

They might work, but I dunno.

Wait a minute...why do you need ABS sensors? Your 96 doesn't have ABS iirc...only 99.

edit - never mind, I'm thinking traction control. ABS wasn't standard on the 4th gen, but it was optional. Regardless, I personally would go OEM on the ABS sensor. Don't want a crap ebay one screwing up on you, do you?

Wouldn't hurt to try. People had a great response to the ebay knock sensors so why not try the ABS sensors too?

I much rather buy ebay sensor than oem...look at the price difference... its mostly only a magnet anyhow... especially if youre doing all 4...all 4 ebay for price of one oem one....

I had a couple of EBay purchased ABS sensors on my 99 and they were fine.

Got this installed. Works (ABS dash light went off). Glad I tried it for $30. Dealer wanted $160.

Darn...

I went to check here as I need it for inspection by end of Nov. I saw your post, but my hopes were dashed when the cheapest for my 2001 gle LR sensor is 113.99 minimum.

Do you know the resistance of yours? Maybe they are the same but with different mounts.

If I have to put it in with friction fit or epoxy, that would be good.

Alternative would be to put a resistor of .85 - 1.5 ohm (or is it kohms) reset the light and sneak to the garage at under 6 MPH .

The eBay one I installed is a ***** to get to the plug to measure the resistance. I can measure the OEM RH one though.

The junkyard is a good source even the 2000-03 fit their a little short too utililize the plastic clip near the ABS pump but you can connect in to the chassis plug and tie wrap them to the structure to secure.....either they work or they don't...they're just magnets!

yup, I'd go to a junkyard first, cheaper than ebay and it'll be OEM 9 times out of ten. Finding a 4th gen in the boneyard shouldn't be too hard, I see way more of those than I do any other gen.
