Double-Din

With my birthday coming up soon, my girlfriwend agreed to buy me a new double-din CD/Cassette/AM-FM face for my Maxima. We went around last night looking at some but the best I could find was a JVC for $350. It looked nice, but I want something that has a little better graphics and a more appealing look.
Can anyone suggest a good site to look at some double-dins online, I'd really like to get a nice one for around $400-500.

400-500 dollars? Wow...I've been with my girl for 2 and half years, and all I got for christmas was a sweater! Oh well, I love 'er. If I were you, I'd take the money and spend it on CAI, Y pipe, and a muffler, but to each their own.

Yea, we spend tons of money on each other (she spends a lot more on me though). I have a PR-CAI on order from CustomMaxima.com.
I'd go with the y-pipe or muffler but she refuses to buy me performance parts for my Maxima. She gets annoyed that I spend so much time on the computer talking in the .org and she also gets annoyed that I'm so obssessed with modding/driving my car. She agreed to get the double-din for me though. When I have enough money I'll go for the y-pipe, muffler and other stuff.
Thank god for my girl!! We've only been together 1 year. Imagine after a couple more...

So you want Double DIN, huh?

Check this out this bad boy;

http://www.kenwood.com.au/car3.asp?gid=1&cid=24&pid=265

I think its the only Double DIN unit (so far) that'll play mp3s.
You can also buy this optional module, and you can use it to laucnh the NASA shuttle.

Cool man. My girl recently got me a few things too, an underbody kit, reverse indiglos, and intelliglow needles. As for the aftermarket double din,I couldn't help you. I had the bose double din, but I sold it for a Nissan single-din Bose Tape deck with the Nissan single din In-Dash 6-CD Changer. It may be a little more money, but have you thought about the Alpine flip-outs?

I had the non-Bose double-DIN and the single-disc CD player in it died. Nissan wants $1200 for a replacement so I went on eBay and got the Nissan single-DIN 6-disc indash changer brand new for $179 and a Nissan single-DIN AM/FM cassette player used out of a 2000 Nissan Frontier for $15. I bought the diversity antenna adaptor for $12. So total cost for a Nissan AM/FM cassette with 6-disc in the dash changer is $206. Installed it myself. Kept the factory look and harnesses. Very cool.

I'd really like to get an after market double din to replace my non-bose double-din that I have now. I'm leaning toward either a Kenwood or maybe a Panasonic. I have a month to find one before my birthday though so I'm in no rush.

If you are willing to take a little risk try the below product.

http://www.eonon.com/index.php?contr...tList&cateid=3

I purchased a single din dvd player from them a while ago that I purchased for $80 and found a set of broken dual screen 7" monitors (was a dvd player w/ remote screen) on ebay for $20. End result was a single din dvd player (plays divx, mp3 wma---everything) with in dash screen. I installed this in my Subaru Forester, but this setup would work treats in the max as well.

I have my entire 80 gig music collection catagorized and spread out over 20 dvd's, which works nicely. I'll up some pics later but check out some of their products, the dvd player I purchased has been an excellent deal, plus since it plays divx I can throw 4 disney movies on a disc for the kids to watch when we are on a long trip.

Just food for thought.
