I can't seem to find this hose.

Hello all,
I am almost freaking finished with this gasket change. I know it's taking a me a few days because work and life has been getting in the way. Anyways, Here is a pic of the hose that I am looking for and that I cannot seem to find it. What hose connects to this:

IIRC its coolant return line that comes from the intake manifold and goes back to the radiator. Follow the hard line to the other side and it should run into another coolant line. Do you remember taking the intake manifold off when you thought it was clear but there was that pesky hose behind the intake manifold? Hopefully you didnt rip it, easy to do lol

OH I remember taking that hose off, it was a PITA. That was the hose that was keeping me from taking the plenum off.

And it's a ***** to get back on. Any tips? I'm thinking about scrapping the old pipe clamp for the screw type clamp.

replace with a much longer hose like everyone else does, replace the clamp with a 8mm bolt style clamp and make sure its facing the most convenient direction.

Why on earth is this coolant line designed like that? It's in such a tight spot.

It's not exactly the pipe that is causing the issue. It's the stupid hose clamp. The squeeze type is such a PITA. I picked up the bolt type clamp. Once I get home from work I will finish the install. After that hose is installed, I should be home free for the rest of the project.

Long nose needle nose pliers are your friend with those things. I replace most with the screw on type but the clamp style is easier for me to deal with. Sometimes getting a screwdriver in there is harder. Whatever works for you but I would def buy a length of hose and extend it instead of running into the hard line. Just easier that way but make sure it doesnt touch anything that gets really hot as it will age much quicker

I use a 90° needlenose pliers for those clamps. Works from almost any angle. Best $7 I spent on tools! lol

like i said in my other thread, tiny pair of vice grips works great for these clamps. cuz itll stay locked keeping the clamp open, giving you both hands to wiggle the hose and pull.

Cost $1.08 at AZ and the clamps makes it much easier. I hope you don't replace the two screws that hold down the plenum at the back of the engine.

I will remember that next time I come across the squeeze type clamps.

It's funny that you recommended that. Apparently the prior owner of this max did not replace the rear plenum bolts
