What is up with this intake system?

How in the world are you supposed to put an aftermarket intake system onto a 4th gen? At a first glance it seems like it would be easy, but then I notice there are many sensors, and multiple inlets for air. I have no clue how to either deal with them, or do away with them. Not urgent, just curious. Thanks.

Are you going to be home making this yourself from scratch? If you buy something made for your Maxima, all these details have been taken into consideration and most likely will come with something called "directions".

Do you have any idea how you are going to accomplish your goals? Home made and universal kits are going to require you to know a lot of minute details, that's for sure.

What is this "directions" you speak of? I've never heard of this before. I am mostly curious as to why the stuff is there. Why is there a large hose going from the intake to the valve cover? Stuff like that. It just seems like a strange setup to me, and I would like to understand it better. Any details that anyone offers would be nice.

If your not familiar enough with cars in general to know this, you should not mod yours yet. Learn more about your car, get the maintenance caught up as you learn, and THEN mod.

Searching really is your best friend on this and any subject really as it's all been covered before but admittedly it may take reading 5 pages on each topic to get all the info. you want, and then some.

It's worth your time to also look at the "How To" section and peruse the content in their as well to help familiarize yourself with the different parts of our cars and how to work on them.

This site is a wealth of information, much more than many other sites I have been on over the last 10 years.
