Can we have a little more details into the sentra suspension swap? If it's cheap and reliable then I'd be down for it... especially for a comfortable lowered car

me too, read the thread and the Sentra Suspension is the part that piqued my interest. Probably one of the few things I might actually be able to do to my car. Not confident enough for engine swaps. But I do like a nicely lowered 4th gen. 1.5-2 inches is ideal for 16s and 17s IMO.

I did swap in Sentra parts for the rear suspension.

B14/B15/P11 rear struts are 1" shorter.

B14/P11 is a straight bolt on, same setup as an A32, just shorter.

B15 you will need to swap the upper strut mount to fit an A32. Also the strut has a smaller spring seat like the A33. Depending on which spring you plan on using, this may help or hinder. FWIW, I welded on an A32 seat onto an A33 strut so I could use them on my 98.

The rear strut alone will lower the car 1". Using the Sentra springs may aid in lowering the Maxima.

I did fiddle around with the fronts but never bolted anything up. At the time I had B13 and B14 stuff which was too small. I did not try the B15 but I though they were similar size to the older Sentras.

I did test fit 3rd gen struts (J30) as they are shorter. However I never finished mocking them. The lower bolt holes need to be enlarged. I think they would have paired well with modest drop springs.

So for the rear shocks, you can basically bolt it on. For the front you don't really know, but fromwhat was mentioned earlier, it looks like the b15 spec v struts will fit on the front with some modifications

That is interesting that the backs bolt right on. I might actually fiddle with this in the next few weeks. A friend of mine has got a '03 Spec V that he's not working on right now. I've also seen a few sentras at the junkyards too.

I just read a few threads on the b15 forums. They used to use agx/koni b13 or b14 front struts and b14 rear struts before the aftermarket had cought up.

So the front struts are basically the same through those models. There are some differences but that's a different topic. Anyway, at the very least you will need to drill out the lower bolt holes and swap strut mounts.

It's funny you mention summer project....I guess it's the ideal time. My problem with summer is I don't want to lose any downtime for my car during the summer. Not one day. OK maybe a weekday here and there, but most definitely NOT a week. I always try to make it a winter project but my garage was too cold Hopefully these kerosene heaters I bought will make up for it this coming winter.

I wish I had my b13, or better yet my sisters b15, handy to measure off. Just imagine the whole front suspension scaled down.
