A/c bypass question

I know this seems kind of a stupid question, but if i bypass the A/C, will my heater still work?

Heat and a/c are separate systems from each other, so yes, the heat will still work. If you are going to remove the belt from the a/c compressor, you will need a smaller belt (36.25 inches/920 mm) to still run the alternator.

ok thats awesome to know.... my A/C pulley bearing is rattling pretty bad and i do NOT feel like having a snapped pulley on the side of the road with nothing to change it out with. it already snapped the belt once, but i thankfully had a backup. Ill be going to napa pretty soon then i guess.

Thanks!

On my 98 SE, I use 35.5" 920 MM, 6 GROOVE, GATES brand. And yes, it does help a little on the car's response.
