Thoughts on eBay catbacks?
Hey all, I have gone through all of the old eBay catback threads, but I would like to hear a recent opinion of the catbacks on eBay. I am considering buying one and slapping it on.
I really want a deep purr without sounding like a ricer.
So...go!

First off....if you really did go through all the old ebay catback threads you would have gotten your answers within 2-3 pages for sure.
Aside from that, if you are planning on actually using the muffler too and not just the cat back pipes, then I wouldn't go any cheaper than the SR-S on ebay. If you just wanna steal the midpipes from the system then really any mandrel bent stainless will do.

I have one since my stock exhaust rusted through and fleabay was all I could afford at the time. Not bad for the price, but the sound is a little harsh. For about $100 or so I could probably get a decent muffler put on, but the ebay exhaust with the silencer in isn't bad for now.
Mine was just some tsuedo knock off or something, it's been on there a while so I can't remember

I own one. The B pipe was 4 inches to long and didnt clear the turn before the gas tank. Nothing fit right, including the flanges lining up flush. I made it work and it sounds decent. Huge PITA. What could have been a 2 hour install was about 6.

I bought the SRS style fit well...make sure that you get the s pipe (the o2 sensor housing). Everyone loved it and it sounded good. If I was to make a complaint..it was the drone. If you put a test pipe, get ready to be loud!

I simple search would've answered this but oh well. Anyhow there's very good points made here already. I went with the cheapest ebay catback I could find $120. I was only after the piping anyways. The fitment was sub par and the muffler was actually **** eyed. You get what you pay for. However I've never seen anything wrong with the Sr-s brand they seem to be good quality.
I doubt a muffler shop could build you a mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust anywhere close to the same price as what you can grab off ebay. Atleast around here you can't and no one around here stocks mandrel bends.

So you'll buy a kit from China, that is paper thin, sup par metal, and does not fit just for the pipes? Sounds counter intuitive.
You are better off getting real exhaust tubing OR a quality cat back that will last more than 2 years. Mandrel bent tubing is great, but non mandrel tubing is not far off. Just don't get crush bends.
Being cheap does not pay.

The catback system I bought to rob the mid pipes was actually pretty well built. I was happy with it. The problems I did run into...were that I had to cut a little bit of heat shield out to allow for the flange because it was about 1/2 inch off of stock. Also the mating of the midpipes with the stock muffler required buggering. If I used the whole system including the muffler it would have fit fine....and actually did when I tested it out. Its when you start mix-matching parts that you need to fab some stuff.

If you would have read my original post, you lazy douche clown, you would have seen that I said that I wanted a more recent opinion on the exhaust. All other threads are at least a year old....
