Messed up my headlight aiming

Tonight i was working on lowering my beam to have more light on the ground. Well as i was lowering my driver side headlamp, i guess i went to far down and it popped back up. So i tried lowering it again and not go so far but it won't go down. It will go up but not down. Did i make the screw thingy pop of of the headlamp adjuster somehow or what? I need help.......

You might have broken something. Why not take the whole assembly out and see whats going on in there.

I've never done it but you should invest in a Chilton's or Hanes manual for your Max. It will tell you how to do it in great detail.

Where are those manuals sold? I'd love to go get one so I could work on my Maxima without worries and questions.

I recently replaced both sides headlight support (the aimer part behind the light, not the actual lens assembly) and this is what I did:

1) Remove mounting screw located on front corners above headlights
2) Pop out the side marker light (push hard to release the clip) If you are a clutz like me, you will end up chipping the plastic on the side marker as you pull it out, so be careful!
3) Unplug bulb for corner lamp...remove entire assembly
4) Now you can see the two mounting bolts for the headlight from the side, unscrew these
5) There are two more mounting bolts for the headlight located on the inboard side of each assembly (above and beneath the adjustors towards the radiator...remove these
6) Now you can pull the headlight out
7) You should not have easy access to repair the headlight mounting unit (the black plastic cage that holds the lens assembly together)...if you want the replacement part numbers, email me and I'll look them up for you, as I do not have them right now at hand

Good luck!

You could pick up a Haynes manual at Auto Zone or Pep Boys.
