Rear window defroster help.

I had my maxima for a year now, and the defroster in the back is one of the worst things I cant seem to fix.. Only like 4 out of the 12 or 13 lines work, idk if is the window or what, what can I replace or I might just need a new window?

Never heard of that problem. Maybe try to clean the connector that goes to the window. But the heating elements in the glass may have died.

The lines that make up the defogger are pretty thin and susceptible to being cut or broken. There is a procedure in the fsm on how to find the cuts/breaks.

See page 123 of the EL section:

http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Nissan/Maxima/1997/EL.pdf

Hope this helps.

Just in case you didn't know, the top few lines that are shaped a little different and connected at odd points are an antennae, not part of the defroster. Not that that fixes your problem, but it is an interesting tidbit I just found out recently..

If u have had tints on ur car and removed them to reapply new tints, this is a possibility as to why this can occur
