Fuel filter

Fuel filter
We replaced our car's fuel filter, and about 2 weeks after, the engine started shaking when at a red light, as if it's about to stall. It is not constant shaking, but just from time to time, on average every 3 seconds one shake. This happens only at idle when at a red light.
When we pour techron into the gas tank, the shaking almost disappears, gives one shake during the whole red light or so.
Could a faulty new fuel filter be the cause of this?
I got the filter from Auto Zone, and when we took out the old one from our car, the new one was much lighter in weight than the one we took out. Is this a bad sign, or are the new ones supposed to be lighter?

vaccuum line?
[QUOTE=granturissimus;8832792]We replaced our car's fuel filter, and about 2 weeks after, the engine started shaking when at a red light, as if it's about to stall.
My buddy has a 97 gle and the same exact thing happened to him, after he changed he fuel filter he had rough idle at red lights...if i remember correctly he had knocked a vaccuum line loose or cracked one when reaching into the filter area...

if you checked your latest fix, the Filter, and thats good to go, the next probable cause is a handful of other things. A leak in your vacuum lines or a faulty IACV could cause idle hiccups. Even bad coils can cause what you are describing. Start with what you did last and go from there. Check your work.

If the car wasn't running the that way before you changed it id say it probably isn't the iacv ^ although its worth a check. Id reccomend buying a hastings fuel filter you'll find which exact part number to get if you search through this forum. Also get the hanyes manual. They sell them at autozone for fairly cheap and is a whole lot more useful than these *** holes 2cents
