Alarm chirp issues

Alright guys, not sure if this has been covered yet but I have a question. When I hit the lock on my key fob my lights flash and doors lock but no chirp. Ive tried holding down the lock and unlock until it chirps and no luck..& when I press the horn it sounds like the horn is on its last leg. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any takers?

Factory alarm doesn't chirp.

If your horn sounds like crap, clean the connections or replace it.

I think another thread with an appropriate tile would be better.

As far as the noise goes, what you said it pretty vague. Try to find an approximate location.

Power steering pumps can make noises, make sure the reservoir in full (uses Dexron ATF oil). It could be a belt noise, especially if the crankshaft pulley is coming apart.

could even be the starter motor gear giving out. I had same kind of issue cause the gear on the starter would stay out after the motor started
