Wheel bearing question

Howdy: My Maxima is making some noise in the right front. sounds like a wheel bearing. The car is stuck about 200 miles from home. I will need to take all parts needed to do this with me. The bearings in the steering knuckle are pressed in from what I understand, so I will have to buy one and have new bearings installed. Does anybody know an online salvage yard where I might be able to get a good used one? Any other suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Tom

Go to car-part.com and you can probably find a decent used one nearby. Just buy the whole spindle/knuckle, makes for a much quicker job especially in your situation.

Used wheel bearings?!

You're kidding right?

New ones are from about $30 to $70 depending on where/what you buy.

Do you rinse and reuse your condoms?

You're sure it's a bearing?

You've checked and you've got wobble on the vertical?

I guess I have to be specific. I would buy a used knuckle, install new bearings, take it with me to Salt Lake City and install the new knuckle on the car. Thanks 2naboy. I WI'll give that a try. Where I live in Nevada, there are no salvage yards. The closest one would be about 150 miles.

What I'm not understanding is why wheel bearing noise is rendering the car stuck?

If it's just making the typical groan, it will easily drive 200 miles home.
Is there something else happening that's not allowing it to move?

www.uneedapart.com is good. Got a ride side timing cover that way. Just tell them what you need and yards will email or call you if they have the part you need. prices vary from yard to yard. My timing cover ranged from $45 to $90.for the identical part
