My maxima just started making a new noise today and its got me freaking out idk if its lifters or timing chain it is for sure something in the valvetrain. With it in park if i rev it up as soon as the rpms start to fall it starts making the noise. I can try and post a video when i get the chance but has anyone had this noise im discribing and know what it is?? 97 Gle with 207k thanks!

check the obvious first, loose exhaust shields etc. then listen if its coming from the timing cover

Where's it coming from?

Passenger side/timing cover side?

Rear bank side?

If so ... timing chain tensioner.

I'm working this issue myself at this very moment.
