Sort of lost to a V8 Grand Cherokee

I was at a light next to a new V8 Grand Cherokee and when I looked over at him the light turned green so he got a huge advantage on the launch and continued to slightly started to pull ahead until about 70 when we had to stop because of a curve. If the launch were even who would have won? I used to assume I could beat most SUVs since they are so much heavier.

watch out for the new GMC envoy too, they're just as fast or maybe faster than the GC V8

The V8s are pretty fast. I believe they were the fastest SUV until the MB M-Class and X5 came along.

Now we're talking my language, if you were up against a 99-2002 Grand Cherokee with a V8 and quadra-drive you are going to get smoked plain and simple. I never get beat in my V8 JGC, the AWD simply means no slip just go, of course we do an exhaust system and CAI for the JGC's which adds another 25 plus hp. I have never tried the Envoy against the 4.0 L JGC but they are both 6 bangers, I would suspect the Envoy might have a better chance because it has the better 6 banger of the 2. The GMC/Jeep dealer did tell me the Jeep has a better 4wd system than the Envoy.

the vortex inline 6 in the envoy can't keep up with the GC V8? don't they have like 275hp?

The V6 GC are pretty slow though. My aunt used to have a 94 with 185hp and I raced my friend in his 96 Buick Riviera SC and he kicked my ***. It was freaking embarassing.
