Boots are torn on driver side, never replaced inner tie rod before, but have done outer tie rod. Car has 252K miles, I think I should replace But dont know how to remove inner tie rod let alone install it. If I Can save some cash by doing it myself, I would be happy!!

You need a specific tool for it.
That's about it.
Clean out all the old grease you can before re-greasing and putting on the new boot.
It's a messy job.

you can do it without any special tools, I use channel locks.

But it's much easier with the inner tie rod removal tool, you can rent one at autozone. makes an easy job.

The autozone kit I rented did not have the correct size socket. I got mine from O'Reilly. Rent the kit.

To remove the washer, you need to pry the tabs up off the inner tie rod. However, on mine, I was able to use a breaker bar (much better with that tool than an impact wrench - and I have a very good one) and just break it open even with the washer on there.

The replacement inner tie rods come with new washers but confirm that when you get it. Those washers will just be round. I used channel locks to bend them down where the tabs should go. If you don't like that, then try to save the original tabbed washers.

The biggest pain in the *** is getting the boots on. I ended up cutting 4 very short slits on the end of the boot that attaches to the steering rack equidistant from one another. That allowed me to get the boot onto the steering rack. I then used the zip ties that came with the tie rods (moog). I did not try to use the original nissan band. Too much of a pain in the butt. I suppose if you are concerned, you could get an alligator band.

The other thing that is often a real pain is getting the outer tie rod off the inner. You should be ok since you've done outer recently it sounds like.

it is toooooo easy next to removing your tires.

Just remember that you must get car aligned once you start replacing any suspension parts (I learnt the hard way ruin new tires after 6 months).

Check / replace the control arm, tie rods, sway bars and even struts wile you at it (any change to these require re-alignment).

You can duh ettttt!!!
