Today's Work - H&R Front Lowering Springs + Hawk HPS

Today's Maxima project work was to put some H&R lowering springs on the front along with freshening up the rotors with a turn and some new Hawk HPS brake pads.

I wanted to snap a picture while I took it for a drive tonight with only the H&R lowering springs on the front. Next weekend I will lower the rear and refresh the brakes with more Hawk HPS pads.

Also, I installed some 5/16 width wheel spacers that remedied the front wheel rubbing problem when making sharp turns.

Here's a slightly focused camera phone pictures from tonight.

So here's another 4th gen Black SE 5MT with 18" wheels from a 2007 Maxima.

Not a fan of those wheels, but otherwise nice looking whip and nice job. How do those H&R's ride with just the front? And did you just do the springs on stock struts?

The ride isn't bad. Though I went from 15 x 8 Fittipaldi wheels to the 18" which really firm up the ride and reduce sway and roll. I'm running KYB AGX for all 4 struts on the 7 (firm) setting - so its a crisp ride.

Poly anti-sway bushings in the front with Addco anti-sway in the rear with a FSTB tighten up the ride a little more.

^ nice. I was mostly wondering how it rode with only the front H&R's on there and stock rears.

You got a nice setup, and will be even better when you do the rears. H&R's really are good springs if I do say so myself

Reminds me of the ole pro-kit & gr-2 days. Felt like it was on rails. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to try the new JIC's though.

It is now finished. I like the H&R ride.. Nice and smooth around town but quick, controlled, and responsive through a round-about or sharp turn. I can feel the difference with the tighter rear coil spring winding in the rear when it tips into a corner. No rubbing on sharp turning to park. It seems to be really well balanced.

Here's running 245x45x18 tires with 07 Maxima 40mm offset wheels + Dorman Part # 711-914 5/16 spacers.

You aint kidding about the slightly focussed lol. Even with this mediocre shot, the car stilll looks awesome. Shows how timeless the look of the 4th gen is.

You need to take better PICs to do it justice though, especially if they're going to stand next to your squeky clean engine bay pics

Yep.. I need to use a better camera. I would like to get a good camera that will make good videos with sound. When I try to make a recording on this camera phone it only seems to pick up the higher pitched injector clicking sounds. So many other priorities right now though..

Next up on the enhancement list will be a pair (front/rear) of Stillen strut tower bars that I need to get the mount braces powder coated then polish the bar to replace the existing FSTB.

Hopefully the bar will turn out like the one on the Q45 below.

After the Stillen bars then I'll be looking to purchase a carbon fiber hood. I purchased on already from Craig's list that turned out to be a scan. So I had to file a claim for non-delivery and wait 30 days for PayPal to refund.

Somehow I can only post via the mobile app. Lol. I get duplicate posts via the web interface on IE or Chrome then it locks up when I try to edit to correct. Lol
