i have done it to my car. all i did was study the wires in he ignition switch to figure out which wire did what. i now have a toggle switch which is the "on" position and a momentary puch button for starter.

we know that...but it would be nice to see his setup. And the wiring diagrams often provided are generic, no guarantee that it would or wouldn't work on our Maximas.

Are you keeping the original key switch? If so cut, cap and abandon the black/white and red/blue wires on key switch side then extend the other side of those wires to wherever you mount the button, those 2 wires go to one side of the button. Then t into the white/purple or white/pink (depending on year) and extend to the other side of push button. A pushbutton switch is under $10 at most parts stores. Pull fuse or disconnect battery before as wire is live.

I have one in my 97 max. My unit came from advanced keys. Its a true push button start system no toggle switches or cut keys. Its activated by pressing the unlock button on your alarm remote & just like any other oem push to start system, foot on brake & push the stsrt button. 1st push is accessory. 2nd push accessory 2 and/or push and hold the will start. Since im parting out my car now, the setup is for sale.
