Hopefully, it will be 2 or 3 years before I need more struts. When the time comes for the I30, I might try some Sensen.

KYB's are solid proven products....Sensens are an economical/reliable replacement for those with an extremely tight budget!

From the eBay ads

OE Supplier to Volvo, Audi, and Volkswagen
Sensen Shocks & Struts is an OE supplier to domestic China for Volvo, Audi, and Volkswagen
Don't get me wrong, I like my Sensens, couldnt be happier, but does
domestic China for Volvo, Audi, and Volkswagen

Any replacement strut will blow in short order. lowering springs should only be used with lowering struts.

So no struts should ever be installed with lowered springs unless the strut is lowered? You mean to tell me that I've been shortliving all my struts for all these years? All 3 of my Maximas are lowered!!!!! Damn!!!!! Damn!!!! Damn!!!!!

That makes 2 of us...the only thing I have heard was....it's not good to put oem struts/shocks with lower springs. I have seen a few people do it with no ill effects

Lowering springs have a higher spring rate. The OEM and cheap replacement struts will not have high enough dampening to control the springs for very long. Sometimes struts blow just because the car is too low and they bottom out, no matter what strut was used. Our suspension was not meant to be lowered, especially far enough to rid the front wheel gap.
