I also need to findout where to get my headlights buffed-they are going yellow on me. Can i do that myself? If so, I wouls like to be pointed to some directions as well. thanks everybody

I can't help you out with the shifter. Maybe a gear oil change will help you out. As far as headlights go. My buddy had a Cougar that had "yellow" headlights. The lenses were really bad. I used a high speed buffer and some agressive compond on them. They came up beautiful. Nice and clear. You may try it by hand using the strongest compond off the shelf. Turtle wax? The heavy duty stuff. A high speed buffer generates heat and heat is your friend when buffing out things like that. Just don't do this on your paint, because high speed buffing and heat are dangerous if you don't know what your doing. You'll go right through your paint down to metal before you know it.

If you dont have access to a buffer, stop by your local body shop and ask if they can hit them really quick for ya. Tip the guy a 20 and your all set.
