I have a black '99 Max and shaved off all the rear emblems and I have no marks whatsoever. the best way to shave the emblems off is to use dental floss. After they're off, use wd-40 and some water to remove the excess glue on the paint. After that, wax the trunk area to protect the paint and your all done! Good Luck!

Since your car is a 95, I reccomend you use a hair dryer for the excess glue. Because on my 96 it just didn't want to come off, but when I heated it up it just rolled off real easily. Theres my 2cents.

shaving emblems

were either of you able to see where they were. I,m talking along the lines of where the paint might be brighter where they used to be. Thanks.

I took the pin stripes of my 95SE about a year ago and there were no visible 'ghost' lines so I assume that in this regard, you'd be okay taking of the emblems.

no after you wax it and get it dirty for a week and wash and wax it again it will mix with the other color. It took mine about a week to look fluid.

My car is only a year old so I don't think the "ghost" marks were there. Now do it already!

I did the dental floss + hair dryer. It took about 30 minutes to peel the glue off even with the hot air. I had no problems with color problems. It looks perfect. I put some wax on it afterwards.
