Aftermarket steering wheel and cruise control

So as you all know the 4th gen maxima steering wheel is really bad with the shedding of the crappy leather they put on it. I've got a 99, and have cruise control. I want to get an aftermarket wheel but keep the cruise control because i wanna keep my max as my DD, if anyone has placed it somewhere else or just put it on a aftermarket steering wheel you could definitely help me!
Thanks

FYI - The GXE rubbery steering wheel hold up very well. You may want to get one of those, and make you car still look stock.

Can the leather covering be peeled away to expose a stock GXE like wheel underneath?

Probably. The rubber underneath on mine is pitting due to exposure though. I was thinking about a "wheelskin" leather cover, or just replacing the wheel. The only thing is that all the local jy wheels are in pretty bad shape, and I kinda have sentimental attachment to my wheel so I might just try the wheelskin to see if that helps as I've read good things about it.
