Specific Heater Core Bypass Question

Specific Heater Core Bypass Question
Hey all, back again, 95 Max.
I have now experienced the air mix door failure (the one that controls the heat). It is stuck in "heat" of course, and as some may know, we use heat and A/c in the same day here in Texas during the Spring and Fall (sometimes even in the winter).
So, I really don't feel like tearing this apart right now.
Sure I can simply bypass the core, I know how to do that - but then I have no heat.
I want to install some aftermarket electronic heater control valve, under the hood, that blocks coolant flow to the heater core. My intent is to put a switch inside the car so I can turn this valve on/off remotely. I'm good with electrical, my question is - does coolant need to flow through the heater core all the time on this car?
I've heard some cars can have the heater core coolant flow blocked, but others it is part of the engine's internal bypass cooling and is necessary. Does anyone know for this generation of Max if it will cause any problems?

I did a search on autozone.com for "heater control valve" and saw a few inexpensive ones that are operated by a cable. Most seem to be vacuum operated. I didn't see any electrical valves.
Check the hose sizes, because if you have to uses adapters, it can get pricey.

If the link doesn't work, you don't want to search using a specific car. When the select a car window pops up - close it.
