I am thinking of replacing the high pressure power steering hose because it has some cracks at the beginning of the hose. If I were to replace to an aftermarket hose would that cause a whining sound or does it just happen to the other generation Maxima's?

 

i was told to use OEM for the hose. Whining could be low fluid,bad built, incorrect fluid.
I would check the fluid first replace it.

 

Had one of the big two aftermarket HP hoses done on my 99 SE.

Whining like a spoiled little beotch that didn't get her way!

Jeff at Maximum Tuning said he couldn't guarantee the other would be any better. IOW.... NOT!

Buy Nissan and put a sock in the whiny one's mouth! I know... Costs more than twice as much!

 

See alot of new HP p/s hoses installed on junkyard cars....

 

What was the name of the hose and does your hose connection have a sensor?
