Hard start on 99 max

Hard start on 99 max
I have a 99 max 5speed and sometimes when starting it sounds like it jumped time but it runs GREAT when it does start. This just started happening within the last few days. Any ideas?

Is the check engine light on? if yes, what is the code?

When were the spark plugs last changed?
