Non-transistorized coils
Hey guys
I was wondering if anyone has tried to swap the coils in their ignition system for non-transisotrized coils....."WHY?", you may ask. Well MSD makes ignition systems that can control timing. Unfortunately, they don't have anything to control transistorized coils. our coils are supposed to be better ... and I agree ... but until someone comes up with something to retard timing (programmable - not JWT), that seems to be the only option ... Haltechs are a little expensive $1500, this seems to be the only option. I have toyed with various ideas of signal delay and tricking sensors but I want a good reliable aftermarket system. I may go for the Haltech in a year or so, but not right now. Any ideas?
