I think I got it figured out, before I spend a ton of money,

I think I got it figured out, before I spend a ton of money, let me know what you think, engine hesitates and stalls repeatedly between 3000rpm and 3500rpm when im easy on the car, if i'm rough with it it stalls from anything over idle to 3500rpm, its almost impossible to get over 3500, but once it does its fine, so im guessing not a fuel delivery issue. when im driving its bogging out once in a great while in will backfire into intake, that makes me think timing i did the timing myself with links, its idiot proof, its getting worse and worse, but i did just drive it 35 miles fine just had to keep it under 3500 rpm, ecm says front o2, cam sensor(brand new) and knock sensor. no code for maf but its acting like its bad, is it the ecm? maf? timing? i think its ecm. its been sitting all year. i miss my car but im stuck. i cant find a new or used ecm so im looking to buy one, 95 3.0 MT. i hear i cant use 97 or above, and all the 95-96 at junk yards around me are AT. whats the compatibility rules with ecm on our cars?

Unplug the maf and start the car. It wont rev above 2500rpm. See if theres a change in behavior.

I guess that confirms the change in behavior LOL.

Your car should run even with a faulty MAF. Try flooring it to start it.
ECUs very rarely go bad. Or should I say 4th gen ECUs rarely go bad.

I'd check for vacuum/air leak near air intake also.

It may sound crazy, but if it's been sitting up for a year, check the exhaust. Some critters may have built a nest in your tailpipe, blocking the exhaust. I've seen everything from wasp nests to dirt daubers to squirrels stashing their nuts in there.
