60K powertrain warranty expiring - Any special checks, service tactics, etc.?

I purchased a 99 Maxima last year with 51K miles and a 60K powertrain warranty. The car runs fine as far as I know.

With the powertrain warranty likely to expire during '02, is there anything special I should be doing prior to 60K? At the moment, I am just intending to take my car to the dealership at least once prior to 60K for an engine or transmission oil change and hopefully have them give it a thorough (and free) 15 or 27 point inspection.

Other ideas, suggestions? Is there anything "standard" that I should try to persuade them to replace on their nickel before I go off warranty?

It's pretty tough to have the dealer inspect the car if you don't have problems with it yet. If the dealer can't correctly diagnose a problem when your vehicle is malfunctioning, what makes you think they can preemptively diagnose other conditions??

Anyways, and I would not suggest this, you could make up a problem and just "say" your transmission is shifting funny, the car is using oil, etc..and the dealer will perform the inspection under warranty and report back to you any problems. Otherwise, they will charge you for any inspection they perform.
