hey everyone,
i need to know where i can go to find good mechanic to work on my 97max.se. i just recently bought it from Dallan Nissan in Burlingame and now i am having some minor problems with it. Dallan Nissan is the has the worst service department. 1) there is some mysterious noise coming out of the front drivers side-a soft high pitched whining noise when i am cruising below 25mph. Dallan claimed that it was normal and called it "low end gear whine." it cant be low end gear whine because it sounds like its coming from the brakes. i went to serromonte nissan(they are better than daland) and had them check out my brakes - they said that i need a $250 brake service because i have aftermarket brake pads. i am not to sure because i dont have to be braking or in gear for the sound to come out.
2) my windshield washer reservoir is cracked so i have to pull in a gas station to clean my windshield.-daland refuses to fix that for me.i dont know what else to expect. i saw the car and just had to have it so i traded my accord in. i am having regrets now. the whining noise is soooo irritating. i need a good mechanic.

If it's Warranty work, try Serramonte Nissan. I've had warranty work done with them and it's pretty good there.
If it's just repair work ( i.e. not warranty), I'd recommend you take it to my mechanic in San Francisco. The shop is called Tak's Auto Repair and you guessed it, it's owned by a guy named Tak. Very honest, good prices, OEM parts, and very fast work. I think the address is 280 15th street, but you can look it up in the yellow pages if you want.
