They're probably gonna move this to the Audio/Electronics thread. I wouldn't do that to a 4th gen but it's all your preference, no matter how Fast & Furious or Dub Edition Pimp My Ride inspired it is lol

You will need an inverter hard wired into your electrical system. I used them in my semi truck and ran everything from a playstation to a microwave. However a semi has 4 batteries and a heavy duty electrical system unlike your car. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's not going to be as simple as plugging an inverter into your cig socket and plugging things in.

If you can get a 32 inch 12 volt tv you will have an easier time at it. I personally wouldn't put all of that load on a 20 year old electrical system. If you do, and you do it yourself you should read up on inverter's, grounding and how to properly use a fire extinguisher.

Good luck and post pics of the end result.

I think Icemule is right. The alternators on these cars don't have much in the way of extra power output. Go to the audio forum and read about the cars where the headlights dim when the subwoofer hits.

Power inverters that create 5 amps of AC power suck 60 amps of current from the car's alternator/battery. If you do something like this, you should consider upgrading the alternator to a higher amperage one.

Yea im no expert when it comes to electric , this idea doesnt seem to be as practical as i thought . i was thinking of spending the $600 for a 370 amp alternator as i already have 2 12" subs amped and also an amplifier to the 4 cabin speakers. Your mention of a fire extinguisher leaves me too paranoid to do this now

So ill put this project on hold but am still interested in seeing any similar projects so if you got pics let em rip

if you really really want video games in your car... get a double din and one of those old sega emulators that has like 50 plus games... then you can play old school mortal combat or sonic pinball in your old school car...
