Broken hoses during valve cover gasket replacement
Broken hoses during valve cover gasket replacement
One of the hoses that connects to the intake in the back snapped!
What kind of hose should I get as a replacement? Do I need any special kind of material for it? What is the inner diameter?
The dealer's parts department is probably closed on Sundays, and they most likely wouldn't have it in stock, either. I'm not going to remove all that stuff you need just to get at it at the junkyard, either. Although I still need to go to the junkyard because I lost a couple valve cover bolts, so I can pick up some replacement bolts there (I lost 2-3, so I'll get at least 5 from the yard).
So I thought I could go to an auto parts or hardware store tomorrow and get some kind of hose of a material that will be compatible with the coolant
Also, the hose that connects the two valve covers (on the timing chain side) is cracked. What runs through this hose? Only air runs through this hose, right? Again, I can probably pick up something at a hardware or auto parts store.

Go to advanced auto and tell them what you wrote here. I just replace that hose between the valve covers. I got emission hose, which they sell. I got about a 2 ft piece for 2.99, pre cut in a bag by the oil/air filter section. You can probably get the bolts you need also. I'm sure most auto stores have the hoses. The hose I bought was not cut to size. Good luck.
