Help; i need to get rid of the check engine light.

Hello everyone; i have been cracking my head today trying to solve the 4 codes in my car: 96 maxima; codes: p0505,p0150,p0325, and p0130. the car does not seem to have any issues other than idling at 1100 RPM. I replaced the air control valve, and that resolved the rpm issue, now it stays from 650-775. however, the codes is still there after reseting it. The other issues were the oxygen sensors and i tested them with a multimeter and they did not seemed to give me any issues. i really dont care about the knock sensor; i really want to get rid of that damn light. any ideas on what might be wrong?

Well, it sounds like you know what the codes indicate (P0505- IACV-ACC Valve),(P0325 Knock sensor), (P0150 O2 Sensor) and (P0130 Front O2 Sensor B1). I just pulled codes for a '97 not knowing your year. Any who, have you down loaded the FSM and referenced the troubleshooting pages associated with these codes.? If not here is link to the FSMs.

I had an issue with an oxy sensor throwing a code not long after replacing both of them. I sanded the oxy sensor fuse, then shoved it back in. Fixed the problem. Since both of your sensors are throwing codes, the fuse might be causing both oxy codes.

The iacv might benifit from a cleaning. I recall using carb spray.
Remove the iacv and have at it.

Instructions can be found by using the seach button.

You should definitely sand the blades of the O2 fuse until they are shiny as JvG suggested. Do this first, clear the codes, and re-assess.

My car is also a 96.

Have you cleared your codes with a code reader after doing the work? Or disconnected the battery over night?

Often the light will stay on a while even after the work has been done. It could take several drive cycles to go away.

+1 you can also do it with a flathead screw driver on the ecu located by your gas pedal behind a plastic protector.

Just be very gentle with that screw, I used a small flat head. Starting from left, turn right for two seconds then back to left, do this about 3 times.

Did you reset the cel after this cleaning? Did you clean the plug and the connector? And are you sure the replacement iacv was good before installing?
