very strange clutch/pressure plate problems

Ok I been turnin wrenches all my life, but i never see a throwout bearing literly wedge in between the pressureplate fingers. how in gods creation can this possibly happen. it screwed up a brand new throwout bearing, and scruffed up the clutch. i put the old throw out in for the hell of it because i need this car and dont have time to wait on another. but my main dumb? is when u tightin the bolts up on presureplate the fingers go in as u were disenguagen the clutch. i never noticed this before on any of the millions of clutches i put in. i mean u can seen them move in as u tightn the bolts. and ideers on this one.??? think i gained a few gray hairs on this one.

well i got the part figured out for the throwout bearing, dont buy a perfection clutch. the clutch seems to be great and all,but it was the wrong throwout bearing. i put the old one in and it works great. recon thier clutches are good, but be carefull make shure u dont get the wrong size throwout bearing and end up pullin the tranny out twice. unless of course u like doin the same thing twice.

Normal. Pushing the diaphragm fingers in draws the pressure plate away from the flywheel and clutch disc. Bolting the clutch cover down over the disc also forces the PP to move in the same fashion.

In both scenarios, the PP moves deeper into the clutch cover, and the diaphragm fingers move inward.
