my 1995 maxima has a flat spot during acceleration
when the engine is at normal operating temperature the throttle pedal has a flat spot and the engine sputters like it's starving for fuel. It idles fine and accelerates fine beyond a certain point of the throttle position. it's at cruising speeds on the highway that it acts up. Seems to do it most while trying to climb a grade on the road. Can't keep the pedal at a constant position so using the cruise is useless. Does anyone know what to look for?

But the problem while going up hill might indicate fuel pressure issues.
Are you having symtoms of hard starting, or bad mileage, or an unburned fuel smell from the exhaust?

It seems, based on your description that your symptom occurs primarily while the engine is under load:
Based on that, I'm thinking one of 3 things may be causing/contributing.
1. MAF;
2. Air Charge Temp Sensor;
3. Throttle Position Sensor.
