1995 control arms

I need control arms for my 1995 maxima gle. I found this kit that seems good. Are they easy to install if i did it myself? Are there any other brands or anything else i should look for or be wary of? thanks

I have no idea if that kit is quality or not. There is no brand name mentioned.

Is it easy? It depends on your skill level. On a scale of 10, I guess I would rate this as a 5 or 6. One thing this job requires is muscle. The bolts that hold the control arms on are big ones, you will need a socket in the 25mm range (I forget the exact size). I highly recommend you use 6 point sockets for this job. When you replace the tie rod ends, count the number of turns it takes to remove the old ones and install the new ones with the same number of turns. And you will need to get the front end aligned when you are done.

A few years ago, I purchased a set of suspension components from a big-box parts store that was basically their "made in China" value line. The products carried a lifetime warranty. Everything worked great for about 18 months. Then during a front end alignment, we started to see tie-rod ends were already heavily worn. It would not hold an alignment. So I returned the generic tierod ends, drag link, etc., and purchased some MOOG replacements. We ended up selling the vehicle.

Over the years I got to know some of the guys who work at the parts store. They let me in on a secret when I returned the parts being: "We work here and we won't even buy that stuff. You only use those parts when you are fixing a problem just before you sell or trade it."

So my question is: How long do you intend to own the car?

If you intend to own the car for a number of years, I would seek out MOOG Problem Solver line components where possible. Though in an earlier post this week by KP11520, it appears the PS line of Lower Control Arms is no longer available.
