He's saying they don't sell them in 27/8!

The 35/5s are only 8 watts (30%) higher than recomended so they are probably safe.

I could easily be wrong here, but I seem to recall someone saying the the 97-99 Maximas don't even use the higher wattage filament unless you rewire them. If this is indeed the case, there will be absolutely no difference between the two on your car (unless you have rewired).

Either way, I would just go with the 21/5s just to be on the safe side.

Personally I would go with the 21/5w so I didn't harm the wiring by overwattage although at 35watts probably would do any damage.

Definitely. The 35w will be brighter.

to match stock headlight intensity...

I say get the 21w. 27w is actually too bright, let alone 35w. 21w looks real nice next to headlamps running at the stock 55w, imo.

actually im going to answer my own question. the low filament is 12 and the high is 28 and i shaved the nub cuz its really a 1156 bulb. so im running the high 28 and the recommended high is 27. (which is not usually on all the time in a stock setup) but i guess il be alright. if you dont think so , let me know.

1156 bulbs are single filament. How can it be 12/28w? Are you sure it isn't an 1157 (dual filament)?

hmm i think youre right.
1156 has the two nubs that are on the same level right? cuz thats what they were. 1157 has two nonleveled nubs.
so it was a 1156, and the rating says 12/28..got me.
either way im sure its a 28 output that im runningnow cuz its bright. in either case you think im gonna be alrite?

Upgrade your fuse from like I think it is around 7 or so. Stick a 10 in there.

Really changing the fuse to one with a higher amperage will only increase your chances of an electrical fire but your dealing with only a 8watt difference between the new bulb and stock wattage. I don't think they make upgrade wiring harnesses for the 1157 sockets only for the headlights. Don't worry about it. It'll be fine.
