Dead accelerator on the 97... Help!

My 97 3.0 with 88,000 miles, in stock trim, has a periodic problem with no power delivery to the engine when pressing on the accelerator. The engine is not throwing any code. The car runs and idles like a champ 99.9% of the time. Every once in a while I can press the accelerator and there is no power response. The engine continues to idle but NO acceleration. I replaced the Throttle Position Sensor assuming the original went bad. Problem still there. Someone told me Intake Air Temperature Sensor might have failed. Thoughts? Would a bad or dirty MAF sensor do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I never get this problem when the engine is cold, only after running a while and fully warmed up if that's a clue. Thanks in advance.

This sounds pretty uncommon but directly related to something between the pedal and the throttlebody probably a sensor. My understanding prior to this post was the pedal somehow pulled the metal wire under the hood that opens/closes the throttle plate on the throttle body. Google will turn up versions of the factory service manual online, I'd look through the alphabetical index for accelerator pedal and anything throttle related I'd think a sensor somewhere is bad. Hopefully someone can help more but I'm sure the answer is in the fsm somewhere
