Motor swap

Will the motor and trans from a 2000 max fit in my 97 max without modifications?

It will probably fit with no problems, but keep in mind the 00 intake is different than the 4th gen intakes from 95-99. The 2000's intake doesn't have cutouts for the rear spark plugs and coils, so you will want to replace those items, as well as the fuel injectors and valve cover gaskets, before installing it into your 97 Maxima.

For the spark plugs, iridium is a MUST, because iridium lasts a lot longer than Platinum (100k vs 60k), and you don't want to pull the intake again.

VQ30s do not need the plenum removed to change plugs.
