How would a mix of 35/50 tint look?
Hey all.
Ok, I got an appointmnet set up next weekend for tint and need some opinions.
Firstly, I live in Michigan which has this stupid law:
Side (back windows) and back window = anything as long as vehicle has side mirrors
Side (front windows) only 4" from the top, anything.
I'm planning to go 35% on the back and side (back) windows because 50% is too light IMO. But I'm somewhat undecided on the side (front) window. Should I:
1) Tint 35% anyways and it'll match up perfectly from the side view.
2) Tint 50%, it'll be lighter but might be less problem if I get pulled over for the damn tint.
Yeah, I know I'll be breaking the law both ways, but anyone has a 50%/35% side window combination? Pics on a 4th gen would be nice if possible.
Thanks

Tint sides/back 35%.
Ohio has a 50% limit which is too light. I see many have 35% and it doesn't look conspicuously dark at all. Many go even darker...
I doubt you will get into trouble with 35% unless you **** off a police officer and he is looking to bust you on a technicality.

Right now, 35% may seem dark, but on a sunny day, it looks like you have no tint at all. Most people here, as far as i know, wish they would have gotten tint darker than what they got. Anyway, those are my thoughts

I think 5% would look sweet, but night time driving will be hell! I'm pretty happy with 35% all round, and I think I might just do that.
Plus, if I did go 5%, there's no way to roll the side (back) windows down all the way, and what do I do with the rear window???? Rig it up to have spotlights so it doesn't look tinted if I get pulled over?

The legal limit in NY is 70% for front and rear side windows and I went 35% for both and haven't had any problems yet. 35% in direct sunlight isn't very dark but you can still tell it's tinted and it looks very good. If I had could do it again, I might go 20% but I wouldn't go any darker. I think 50% is too light for the front windows and I also think both should match.

i think you should get the same all the way around. when i got my windows tinted i got 35 in front and back even though the legal limit for the front is 50% in VA. the even, uniform look is better looking in my opinion.

who cares about the law, there not just gonna pull you over for havin dark windows, unless they're really dark like 5%. the mix of tints wouldn't look thta bad, but you could also get ita ll the same tint. on my ride, i got 35% in the front and then for the all the back i put 20%. and it's look s tight, and its legal here in GA.

I have 50% on my front windows, 35% on the rear and 20% on my back. . . I personally like how it looks but some think it is too light. I think part of the reason is because I have a light interior, as dark interiors tend to make tint look darker IMO. There are a few pics of my car with tinted windows if you click on my homepage button.
