Hood release not working

I had some electrical work done in the engine bay, hood was up. Took the car home, wanted to check the work and hood would not open. Hood release has tension, and I hear a clicking but nothing happens. Read all the posts how to replace the cable, but I need to know if there is something I can do to get my hood open. Any feedback would be appreciated.

try pulling up on the hood and the latch and playing with it, mine got a little sticky after a while of not using it. Might need a screwdriver to help manually release it if that doesn't work

Thanks for that tip. I was able to get the hood open by using a pry-bar, and I used some bungee cords on the hood release lever. I knew something was up as the hood release lever still had resistance. When I tried to close the hood it would not close, and it looks like my hood latch spring is broken. Any idea where to get a replacement that matches the 95 Maxima SE?

Can't remember if I had to tinker with the latch itself or enough jerking the latch/hood upwards finally set it free.

Looks like the whole hood latch is $10-15 online searching for just the spring didn't give any results I'd just replace the whole thing I'm sure it's getting rusty going on 24years

When it's like that 2 people work...Have someone push down on the hood as you pull the hood release handle....
