I have a 5th gen and guys say anything other than Hitachi will bring only regret and headaches. No aftermarket works worth while.

And this goes for crank and cam sensors.

I just got a misfire issue yesterday =\ Check engine light started flashing while driving, bogging at complete stops, lagging on accleration. UGH lol

Since I have fairly new spark plugs and coils, It leaves to me that the injectors are out as I have not touched them ever since I owned the car.

a bad Crankshaft position sensor more n likely would not cause a misfire.. I believe its job is to crank the car for you to start it up... that's all. I could be wrong but its called "Crank" for a reason.

Otherwise, like others mentioned.. hands down Hitachi would be your best bet.

It depends which one you need.

If you need the rear, or left, sensor, then one of the major aftermarket brands is OK. Beck/Arnley, NTK,

If you need the front, or right, sensor, then OEM from the dealer is a must.

being as that i've never replaced them and i have 291,000 on the max i'm being told that since all my other parts are new that this is a good place to start. injectors, plugs, and coils are all new in the past year and a half including maf, iacv, egr valve, and pcv. only thing i haven't replaced is the tps sensor which is next on the list. and there's 2 of them? which one typically goes bad? i heard the wires frey and cause issues like i'm having. i'm losing patience with this bs, really pissing me off.

You know that I've been running Intermotor for just about every (except MAF) sensor on these cars.. Never a problem to date. Though sometimes Intermotor cost more than OEM and I go with it to get a better warranty. I've found many Intermotor parts are just reboxed OEM. That explains the expense..

2 weeks ago I bought a genuine Nissan cam sensor from Amazon for $30.00.

Perhaps search the OE P/N there ...

Rockauto, ABC Nissan, TRI-Cities, Courtesy Nissan Parts.....Also check your intake gaskets a leak will cause a misfire....Crankshaft sensor controls your ignition timing and ECU reference....It not just for starting to engine....Sounds like you have a continuous combustion engine (Turbine Engine) only use ignition to ignite the fuel and no need after that! LOL

I'm a big fan of Beck Arnley replacement parts, if they have it. I have their Cam Position Sensor and it's been working great for the last few years.

I would never recommend their control arms, at least for our cars. I went thru 2 sets in less than 2 years due ONLY to the bj boot tearing/cracking/splitting. This was not damaged by a tool and my car has not been in the shop in 12years. This was poor manufacturing of the boot.

Went with a diff brand. Having done the ctrl arms 3x now, its getting easier but not fun doing unnecessary work. Thinking of it, I'm doing too much work on it lately due to poor aftermarket parts quality. Sick of it. I'm changing brands now so hopefully it subsides.

Try bg44k fuel treatment before spending money on injector replacement. I had a van that ran awful as if on 5 cylinders and it cleaned it up.

The stuff works awesome. Bg44k is a nice friend.

I should mention I just bought a Beck Arnley Throttle Position Sensor from RockAuto this week, and inside the Beck Arnley box was a Nissan branded box.

Really the best deal, if you can figure it out, is to buy direct from the manufacturer who makes the oem part for Nissan. In my case with the TPS the photo of the item had a nissan logo molded into it so I took a chance on Beck Arnley being the oem manufacturer which it seems was a good bet. With ignitors it's Hitachi, etc. We should start a database of confirmed or suspected oem manufacturers.

Ah too late lol, I'm replacing all 6, but at the same time, I'm going to be doing a fuel treatment, new fuel filter, new air filter, rear valve cover gaskets all at the same time. Should be done this week or next week for sure. I'm sure the car will feel more smooth and responsive after that! Can't wait.

One time, a shop convinced me to try BG44K in an attempt to take the easy way out. Shop performed the service but it didn't fix the misfire problem. Waste of money and time.

Does it hurt to put fuel treatment in the car? Does it actually clean out the fuel system as it should?
