Fuel Pump Strainer Recommendations

I recently purchased an OEM fuel pump. However, it does not include the strainer.

In looking, I find a number of aftermarket items available, some being quite inexpensive ... not that that makes them bad.

Can anyone make any recommends on this?

I'm pretty set on replacing my 19.5 year old one along with the pump.

I googled "fuel pump strainer 1997 maxima" and got a bunch of hits. Most were $4 -$5.

That's actually why I asked the question.

Rockauto's got one for like $1.79.

There doesn't appear to be just the strainer available from any Nissan parts marketers so its apparently going to have to be some aftermarket part.

It's not the price I'm after ... the quality and durability is where my question is.

When i replaced my Fuel pump with my Walbro it came with a really big strainer but it was too big to fit in the housing. So what i did was got some brake cleaner and i cleaned my OEM strainer really good and let it dry in the sun and reinstalled it. And that worked fine. It looks like some aftermarket strainers are too big to sit in that little tight space the pump sits in. So you can reuse your oem and just clean it good.

I also reused my OEM on my walbro, but I wish I would've seen if the aftermarket matches up well enough..subscribed
